What is ShallowTV?

ShallowTV is a media player tool that allows users to play M3U playlists and stream media from URLs that users provide themselves. The application functions solely as a playback interface and does not include, bundle, or distribute any media content, streaming links, or playlists.

Think of ShallowTV like a web browser or media player - it is simply a tool that can access content from URLs you provide. The application itself contains no content.

No Content Provided

We want to be absolutely clear:

• We do not provide any streaming links or URLs
• We do not provide any M3U playlists or content sources
• We do not host, store, or distribute any media content
• We do not provide access to any copyrighted material
• We have no affiliation with any content providers or streaming services
• We do not endorse or promote any third-party content or services

Any content accessed through ShallowTV comes entirely from sources that users add themselves. We have no knowledge of, control over, or responsibility for any content users choose to access.

User Responsibility

By downloading, installing, or using ShallowTV, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are solely responsible for any content you access through the application
• You will only use ShallowTV to access content that you own, have purchased, have licensed, or otherwise have legal rights to view
• You will not use ShallowTV to access pirated, illegally distributed, or unauthorized copyrighted content

ShallowTV is designed for legitimate uses such as:

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ShallowTV, its developers, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

• Your use of the application
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Any content you access through the application

Privacy - Data We Collect

ShallowTV is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect personal identification information such as your name, email, or account details. However, we use the following third-party services to help improve the app:

Firebase Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app in aggregate. This service collects:

• Usage Data: App opens, screen views, and feature interactions
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version
• Anonymous Identifiers: A random app-instance identifier (not linked to your personal identity)

This data is used solely for analytics purposes to improve the app experience. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or tracking across apps.

Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix app crashes. When a crash occurs, Crashlytics collects:

• Crash Logs: Stack traces and error information
• Device State: Device model, OS version, orientation, and available memory at the time of crash
• App State: App version and the sequence of events leading to the crash

Crash data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. It is not linked to your identity.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Information about the content you access or the URLs you stream
• The playlists you add to the application
• Your viewing history or browsing habits

Data Stored Locally

ShallowTV stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Playlist URLs: The M3U playlist URLs you add to the app
• Media Metadata: Channel names, logos, and categories parsed from your playlists
• Playback Progress: Your viewing progress for VOD content
• Favorites: Items you've marked as favorites
• App Settings: Your preferences and configuration
• Cached Images: Thumbnails and logos cached for performance

This data remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. You can delete all data by uninstalling the application.

Network Requests

ShallowTV makes network requests for:

• Fetching Playlists: From URLs you provide
• Streaming Content: From stream URLs in your playlists
• Loading Images: Logos and thumbnails from URLs in your playlists
• Analytics & Crash Reporting: Anonymous usage and crash data sent to Google Firebase

Playlist, streaming, and image requests go directly to URLs you have added. Analytics and crash data are sent to Google Firebase servers. We do not operate our own data collection servers.

Third-Party Services

ShallowTV uses the following third-party services. Their use of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies:

Children's Privacy

ShallowTV does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Parents and guardians should supervise their children's use of this application and the content they access.

We may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
