Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a playlist?

You can add playlists in two ways:

  1. On first launch, enter your M3U playlist URL in the onboarding screen
  2. Go to Library tab, tap the + button, and choose "Add from URL" or "Add from File"
What playlist formats are supported?

ShallowTV supports standard M3U and M3U8 playlist formats. The parser handles:

  • #EXTINF tags with attributes (tvg-id, tvg-name, tvg-logo, group-title)
  • HTTP, HTTPS, RTMP, and RTSP stream URLs
  • Both live channels and VOD content
Why isn't my channel playing?

There are several reasons a channel might not play:

  • The stream URL may be offline or expired
  • Your network may be blocking the stream
  • The stream format may not be supported by your device

Try refreshing your playlist or contact your playlist provider for updated links.

How do I resume watching a video?

ShallowTV automatically remembers your playback position for VOD content. Simply tap on a video you've partially watched, and it will resume from where you left off.

Can I sync playlists across devices?

Currently, playlists are stored locally on each device. To use the same playlist on multiple devices, add the playlist URL on each device separately. The auto-refresh feature will keep them synchronized.

How often do playlists refresh?

By default, playlists refresh every 24 hours when auto-refresh is enabled. You can customize the refresh interval in the playlist settings, or manually refresh at any time from the Library tab.
